A Week Full of Events

This week is monumental for the South Carolina Republican Party. It will be a time to celebrate the enormous 2010 election victories, as well as organize for the upcoming fight to take back the US Senate and the Whitehouse. If last year is any indication, we are deadly serious about achieving these goals.

  • The first event this week is the Resolutions Committee meeting, which is scheduled to occur at 6:00pm in Blue Marlin’s Vista room. The resolutions that pass will then become part of our Party’s official agenda, so this meeting certainly deserves your close attention.
  • The highly anticipated presidential debates will take place this Thursday, May 5th at 9:00pm, which is an event that is sure to be quite interesting. Our candidates will articulate their views on the important issues that face our nation. It is imperative that we show our support for these candidates, who will attempt to oust one of the most divisive, over-reaching presidents in US history.
  • The third event is the Annual Silver Elephant Banquet on Friday at 5:30pm. If you purchased tickets, then we look forward to seeing you there! If you did not yet RSVP for this event, we unfortunately sold out earlier today. However, if you still have interest in attending, you may contact SCGOP headquarters to be added to the wait list.
  • Lastly, this Saturday is the State Convention, which will take place from 9:00am – 5:00pm at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center (registration starts at 7:00am). We will vote in our new SCGOP chairman and hear from numerous guest speakers.

I sincerely hope you can make these terrific events this week, as our state and nation urgently need every bit of your participation and support. These events set the tone for the next two years, and the stakes are too high to get off on the wrong foot. Thank you for all that you do, and we look forward to seeing everyone this week!

Sincerely,

Karen Floyd
SCGOP Chairman
